System Description
Different measurements on the characteristic of wireless devices can be carried out on the Rohde & Schwarz standard OTA test system R&S® TS8991. Because wireless devices cover multiple standards, the system implements tests on GSM, GPRS, EDGE, AMPS, IS-95, IS-136, W-CDMA, CDMA2000 and Buetooth with only one communicatino tester, and WLAN 802.11a, b, g by another. Of course, optimization possibilities differ between the different mobile standards.
The communication testers control the device by communication antennas. The sensitivity is also measured via the communication tester in combination with a dual polarized horn antenna. For measuring the radiated power, a spectrum analyzer or a network analyzer is included.
